Decanter

This freeform decanter features a smoky amber colourway, executed in thick-walled, handblown glass. The body swells at the base into a softly asymmetrical form with applied heat-manipulated folds that create internal ribboning—visible from multiple angles and adding depth to the otherwise minimalist silhouette.

The pulled neck rises tall and narrow, finished with a subtle pinched spout. The base is heavy and well-ground, with no pontil scar visible, suggesting cold-finished removal. The overall weight and clarity of the glass point to quality craftsmanship, designed and blown by Don Shepherd for Chalet Glass

This signed decanter, the form and internal movement evoke the sculptural utility pieces of the 1960s–70s, making it suitable for both display and use.
